It is not enough to stay silent when someone hurts us. The Gospel asks for a stronger response, to do good even toward those who have treated us badly. We can refuse to let another person’s wrong determine our own actions and instead answer evil with a good that keeps love moving.

Prayer for Courage to Do Good
Risen Lord, help us not to return hurt with hurt. Give us the courage to choose what is good, even when we have been treated badly. Amen.
A prayer a day, keeps the soul from drifting away.
