Listening is an act of love. In our relationships, we show respect by giving people our full attention instead of being only partly present. The same is true in prayer. When we turn to God, we can set aside distractions and give Him the attention and love that belong to Him.

Prayer for an Attentive Heart
God, help us become better listeners, both with people and with You. Teach us to set aside distractions and give the people before us our full attention, especially when we pray. Amen.
