Our conscience can challenge the excuses we make when doing what is right becomes inconvenient. Instead of settling for half-measures or ignoring what we know we should do, we can examine our motives honestly. This helps us recognize selfishness and choose a more caring response toward the people around us.

Prayer for an Honest Conscience
Lord, give us the courage to look honestly into our hearts. When excuses, selfishness, or indifference begin to guide us, lead us back to love for the people around us. Amen.
