Understanding another person takes more than knowing what happened to them. We can try to see the situation from where they stand, notice what they may need, and respond with patience and generosity. When we make the effort to understand before reacting, our care becomes more concrete.

Prayer for Understanding Others
Lord, when we struggle to understand someone, teach us to see beyond our own point of view. May patience and generosity help us recognize what another person may need. Amen.
