On September 8, 2025—International Literacy Day, the world is reminded of this truth. This year’s theme, “Promoting Literacy for a Sustainable Future,” says it all. Literacy isn’t just reading and writing—it’s freedom, it’s voice, it’s hope. For kids growing up in poverty, a single book can become a key to breaking the cycle, a light that guides them to a life where choices are bigger than survival.

When a child discovers learning, the change doesn’t stop with him. It reaches his family, his community, and eventually the world he helps build. A stronger future starts with the smallest lessons.
