Listening is one of the simplest ways to love another person. Real listening asks us to set aside the need to win arguments or provide immediate answers. It invites us to become fellow travelers searching for truth together. The best conversations feel less like debates and more like musicians learning to play in the same rhythm.

Lord, teach us to listen with patience, humility, and openness. Help us understand others before trying to be understood ourselves. Amen.

Understanding grows where the need to win begins to fade.

Real dialogue begins when we care more about understanding people than impressing them. Listening, asking questions, and making room for another person’s perspective are simple ways of showing love. Conversations do not always need agreement to create connection. Sometimes understanding begins when different voices find a way to share the same harmony.
