At first glance, you’ll probably ask, ano ba ang connection ng Wikang Filipino at AI? After all, AI can understand and translate almost every major language. So bakit need pa silang i-connect?
The answer is actually simpler than we think. Hindi lang tayo ang gumagamit ng AI. AI also learns from us.
Sa tuwing may new books, articles, research, websites, at iba pang quality content sa Wikang Filipino, mas gumagaling ang AI sa pag-intindi ng language natin. Hindi lang vocabulary ang natututunan nito. Pati expressions, context, at cultural nuances na unique sa pagiging Pilipino.
Kung kulang ang Filipino content online, may limit din ang matututunan ng AI. Not because other languages are more important, but because those are the ones it sees and learns from the most.
Every quality content in Wikang Filipino helps AI better understand our language, culture, and identity.
Hindi ito tungkol sa pagpili ng isang language over another. The goal is to encourage more people to use, value, and strengthen Wikang Filipino while patuloy tayong nakaka-keep up sa mabilis na pagbabago ng technology. At sa panahon ngayon, it’s still a big advantage to know more than one language, lalo na sa school, work, at communicating with people from other countries.
Sa panahon ng AI, ang tanong ay hindi lang kung paano natin ito gagamitin. Baka ang pinakamagandang ambag natin ay ang pagtulong sa AI na mas maintindihan what it means to be Filipino.
