A Day to Think About Food and Body

A day to pause the pressure and accept your body.

Every year on May 6th, there is a day set aside to talk about diets and how we treat our bodies. This is International No Diet Day.

It was started in 1992 by Mary Evans Young, a British feminist writer. She created the day to challenge the idea of diet culture and to encourage people to accept their bodies.

The main point is to stop the pressure around dieting. Diet culture often makes people feel bad about their bodies or forces them into strict rules about food. This day is a way to pause that pressure and just think about how we view our bodies.

It’s not about a specific diet plan. It’s about accepting that bodies are different, and that we don’t need to be constantly focused on weight or restriction
