From Out of the Black

A dark walk filled with heavy walls, blocked exits, and voices that never believed in him. Every path led deeper into the black, until the only choice left was to face the door.

A story behind the album

The walk felt uneven, moving as fast as he slowed down, rushing one moment and dragging the next. People around him kept talking about the bright side, but the light only burned his eyes. The streets carried the weight of cathedralic matter, tall walls pressing on every side.

His back ached, so he tried chiropractic on himself, twisting until the crack echoed. It gave nothing. Life’s changes came without warning, and every path ended at another no-way gate.

Even the ground felt like obstacycles, broken and rough, each step heavier than the last. He stopped by an outdoor backdoor, but the handle refused to move. Deep oxygeneration breaths only left him dizzy, not calm.

He was the Ratstar, a star among the poor, shining in the wrong place, under cheap lights that mocked instead of praised. When the announcer’s voice rang outβ€”β€œReady, get set…”—the crowd saw him, and answered together: β€œNo!” The rejection landed harder than any fall. They didn’t believe in him. They never would. Behind him stretched the shadows left behind, all his failures, all the shame, and they followed with every step.

It only grew worse when someone stole his only getaway to the lonely Tambay Cafe. Even that last place where he thought he could sit down in peace was gone before he reached it. Life played cruel tricks through the mystery of ups and downs, but the downs always won. He stayed trapped, each chance breaking too soon, twice less, once more, until there was nothing left to hope for. In the end, wherever he turned looked the sameβ€”dark, empty, and closing in.

Then silence. A blink. He was still standing by the front door, hand frozen on the knob. The walls, the crowd, the cafeβ€”they weren’t there. All of it had stayed inside his mind.

The door creaked. Light slipped in. His chest was tight, his legs weak, but he stepped forwardβ€”from out of the black.
